Free Comic Book Night 2023
At Captain Blue Hen Comics on Saturday, May 6 from 5pm-8pm
(Store open that day 11am-4pm – no event activities during that time)
Masks required indoors. Free comics and most activities are outdoors.

- Additional activities available at Newark Arts Alliance (next door to CBH)

- Themed multipacks (again like last year)
- Every attendee can pick a themed pack of Free Comics (multiple comics per pack)
- Additional Free Comics are available with a food donation to the Newark Welfare Committee. The additional Free Comics will be individual comics and will be available at tables other than the Free Comics table (such as the Newark Police Athletic League table)
Creator Guests
- Neil Vokes, comics superhero and horror artist for Marvel, Image and many more. Neil has been our guest for all of our Free Comic events! Come by and ask for a sketch.
- Ken Haeser and Buz Hasson, the Corpse Crew! They are the team that created the Living Corpse. Ken and Buz are comic artists who have worked on horror, superhero, and kids comics. Come by and ask for a sketch.
- Liz DeJesus, novelist and crafts creator. Liz has been at various CBH events for many years. Check out her books and check out her cool arts or crafts available for purchase.

Members Free Comics
- If you have a subscription box, turn in your Free Comics selections (fill out list at the store) to avoid the Free Comics line
- If you fill out your list in the allotted time, you can pick up your Free Comics any time on May 6 (ask any staffer on that day) or on a day after that date
