What Happens at Pokemon League?

What is Pokemon League?

Normal Pokemon League is a tournament starting at 2PM. It hosts all ages of trainers, from kids who just like to trade the cards to adults and kids who compete at high levels.

If your child (or you) wants to learn how to play Pokemon, come on by! We almost always have someone available to teach you how to play.

During the League there are usually kids and parents who are not competing, but are just there to hang out and have fun with other people playing Pokemon. Most kids come and observe a time or two before deciding to play in the League. When young trainers are trading cards we have them check the value with a league Leader first, to make sure the trade is fair.


Times

Every Sunday we host Gryphon's Pokemon League from 1-5PM.

The event officially starts at 2PM, but we encourage everyone to come early to register, get settled in, trade cards and get your questions answered.

Age Divisions

There are 3 age divisions for Pokemon tournaments:
  1. Junior Division: Born in 2007 or later
  2. Senior Division: Born in 2003, 2004, 2005, or 2006 
  3. Masters Division: Born in 2002 or earlier
This means kids compete against other kids their own age.

What About DS, Pokemon Go, etc?

We host video game tournaments on Nintendo DS regularly, depending on attendance. Often, even if there is not an event, kids will play DS on Sundays, so it never hurts to bring it. When we do plan to host an official DS event, we list it on Our Events Page and on Facebook.

Pokemon Go is a regular around our store since there are various points of interest neaby. It is not unsual to see people playing in the store or right out front while enjoying a coffee.

We also host a variety of Pokemon Special Events like Prerelease Tournaments, League Cups and Midseason Showdowns. Information about all upcoming events can be found on Our Events Page and on Facebook.
