After the events of last issue, the JLA and a host of DC's most powerful mages (including Zatanna, Tempest and Faust) are left to investigate the raven-black magic that is still stirring near the Atlantic Trench, former resting place of the undersea continent of Atlantis. When the continent itself is suddenly found above the waves - along with evidence that Aquaman may have survived - the League commits to a course of action that will change the face of the team and the lives of its members forever.
