"And in Death There Is No Escape!", An actor has dealings with a sorcerer to grant him immortality; In order to gain enough money to produce his own play, he desires to marry a wealthy woman who loves him but her father refuses; He gets the woman to hire a maid whom he has instructed to poison the old man, but the actor's plans unravel when he becomes trapped in a fire which hideously burns him; He ends up as a carnival freak praying for the death that will not come.
